Barcelona V Real Mallorca preview

Tommorow I am going to make my first trip to the Camp Nou and I can’t wait. While the match in question doesn’t sound like it will be a close affair it actually might be…

Barcelona find themselves with an injury hit squad from their exploits in the league and more recently in Paris. Lionel Messi, Carles Puyol, Javier Mascherano, Pedro, Jordi Alba and Adriano are all expected to be missing through injury and Victor Valdes is still suspended in the league due to the red card he suffered against Real Madrid. Almost definitely not being able to see the world great Messi is upsetting but at least I will be able to watch the tiki-taka of the midfield triumvirate: Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.

The injuries give Mallorca some much needed hope, they currently lie 19th in the league and are 3 points from safety. While Mallorca really need to win this game, Barcelona have other concerns, principally when they welcome PSG to the Nou Camp for the return leg of their champions league tie. Mallorca have only failed to score once in their last thirteen games and recently scored two goals in an impressive performance against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu. They should fancy their chances against a hastily assembled Barcelona defense. After all Barcelona have conceded twice in their last two games and Mallorca have scored at least twice in their last four matches.

Hopefully the game shall be an entertaining one, I am sure it will be. I will try and get a match report out in Spain, but if this isn’t possible I will post it on Wednesday. Adiós amigos!
